🔧 Volvo Service & Repair by Popular Mechanix

The best decision that I have made was to take my 850 Volvo Wagon to Popular Mechanix. Andrew and his team are meticulous in making sure that everything is in good working order before the car leaves the shop. Since my car is "vintage" it is not always easy to find parts that will solve the problem. However, Andrew makes a point of harvesting working parts from older models that still work when that is necessary. In my last visit my car was delivered to my home looking better than it has looked since it came off the showroom floor. They had given it a complete washing and cleaning.

Expensive and inflexible. To be fair, Popular Mechanix did help me when my fuel pump failed although the price was higher than it should have been. But when I next needed help with an engine problem, approval of a $2,500 estimate was demanded before even looking at my car. I made a counteroffer of $500 to troubleshoot and determine what repair was needed, but was refused. So I got out my own code scanner and diagnosed the problem myself. Turned out it needed just spark plug replacement, which could have been accomplished for much less than my $500 offer. I won't be going back.

Andrew and his team are excellent! Honest, knowledgeable and reliable experts, particularly in Volvos. What a difference from the crooks at the official Volvo dealership in SF.

Everyone is friendly and professional! They know their stuff. We’ve been going there for years and everything that needs attention gets attention. Our 19 yo Volvo runs well and still passing smog thanks to their work. Often Andy will spell out issues that need attention right away vs noted issues that can wait. They offer a free loaner if you plan in advance. I highly recommend this garage.

My 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge needed expert eyes on the software interface and Popular Mechanix was recommended by a trusted friend. Andrew was fast on the draw, very responsive, asked lots of questions to correctly diagnose and assess the possibilities, and got my car in within 48 hours for service. I knew I was in good hands. Exceptional customer service and care for my car. Fast and honest, a real pleasure.
